This Little Cookie is the creation of Julieann Moore, not the actress, the baker. Julieann's love affair with food and baking began as a child growing up on a biodynamic farm in sunny southern California. The farm was an environment which fostered Julieann's culinary and baking career by providing all the necessary tools for practice and experimentation for over 18 years. Needless to say at age 18 the last thing on her mind was being a baker as the crazy life of college beckoned her down to San Diego to pursue her Bachelor's degree in business and leadership.

After three years in college Julieann's attention was drawn back to the food realm as she contemplated entering the culinary field. At this point she was connected with a wonderful chef Mary Sue Milliken who has become her mentor and has been nothing but a guiding light. At this point life had already transplanted Julieann to Los Angeles where she was finishing college and working in the music industry. This helped to cultivate Julieann's desire to be an artist and really gave her the inspiration to push forward to pursue her new found dreams of being a baker.

Over the past four years Julieann has diligently cultivated her true passion and love of expression through baking and pastry. After finishing college she hit the pavement and worked for about a year in Los Angeles before deciding to move up to San Francisco where she fell in love with the city and the food world. Life has been nothing but giving as she has had the opportunity to work with Michael Recchiuti and Chez Panisse before finding her home in the kitchen of Tartine Bakery.

Tartine has been the inspiration, training ground and home for Julieann and her baking artistry for the past two years. The bakery and its owners Chad Robertson and Liz Pruitt have been nothing less than amazing to work with and for. Their generosity has really allowed Julieann to bring This Little Cookie from concept to reality.
